Pachinko

DATES: Entire Festival, February 3 – 11, 2023

STARTS: 5:30 pm
ENDS: 12:00 am

Alameda Ridge retaining wall studded with dazling light blocks.

Pachinko is an integrating light installation into a permanent structure. As permanent as a wall built into the side of a hill. The land relief was first created by the Missoula floods and then toiled with against roads and sidewalks… and finally and most recently pushed back enough to build a meager retaining wall with lights!

I’m so excited to share this community project with you another year. Exterior electronics in Oregon in the winter is a high threshold with this weather.

“…..Which is just another way of blaming, and perhaps the best way, because there is solace and a certain stoical peace in blaming everything on the rain, and then blaming something as uncontrollable as the rain on something as indifferent as the Arm of the Lord” ― Ken Kesey, Sometimes a Great Notion
