Goat Garden of Lights

DATES: Just the Weekends
(Feb 3-4 & Feb 10-11)

STARTS: 6:00 pm
ENDS: 10:00 pm

In the dark of winter, this garden blooms with light and imagination. 3D printed crystal structures and glowing trees illuminate the journey through a hibernating permaculture pathway. This exhibit is hosted by the Three Stinky Goats Urban Farm which offers naturescape and permaculture workshops, community events, and whimsical fun throughout the year. Winter is the offseason for this urban farm but while the birds, bugs, and plants are out of view, this life-sized fairy garden is illuminated for viewers.

Over 1,000 hours of 3D printing time has gone into the creation of this exhibit. Each crystal takes from 2-8 hours to create. The UV components of the project feature repurposed street light globes with dragons which have taken 15-36 hours each to print. Glowing trees are on display from Milwaukie’s own, Twinkle Trees. Children and adults alike enjoy meeting the three goats who live in the garden and browsing the oversized lending library.

This exhibit is located in a residential neighborhood with street parking available and sidewalk ADA access and viewing available from vehicles. Please note it is located on a cul-de-sac and small children are often present and distracted by the lights. The location is also accessible by bike via the Springwater Corridor and neighborhood streets. The artists/owners are often available to answer questions and engage viewers with music and information about the display.
