(We Are) Celestial Beings

A collection of glowing, complex, multifaceted stars hung overhead. This piece is a celebration of all that exists in space (including humans!) as celestial beings, and the differences that exist within our sameness. Stars come in so many types, and our piece is an exploration of many regular and irregular stellar forms.

With frames made of bent pencil rod steel, covered with custom/craft paper and sealed with a hard shell of resin. LEDs on the inside are run on GlowFlock boards, making them able to wirelessly sync with each other, and any other nearby piece running on GlowFlock through a mesh network. The stars shift between playing different patterns of light. Sometimes the patterns are matching, and sometimes they dance back and forth across the different stars.
